One of the things that can put people off blogging is the thought of having to write a set number of words.

If you are writing a post for someone else they may have a requirement of say 500 or 1000 words, which can be a struggle for those starting out.

The good news is that blog posts appear to be getting shorter, readers want advice that is to the point rather than a long rambling post that has been padded out to reach a set number of words.

If you are posting on your own blog, feel free to write posts that are on whichever length you like – as I cover tomorrow, frequency is an important factor so if shorter postings help you to achieve this then they are to be welcomed.
