HMRC introduces 03 numbers (taxhelp.uk.com has since May 2011)

Increasingly people are using mobile phones to make calls, rather than from a landline.

Unfortunately, many mobile phone contracts do not include 0845 numbers in their inclusive calls allowance – meaning that there is a cost for the call, which is compounded if people are put on hold.

Realising this, back in May 2011, I introduced an additional 03 number so that taxhelp.uk.com clients could call us from their mobile and the call would count as part of their inclusive minutes.

It is good to see that HMRC are also taking this step, which was reported in February 2013, for their helpline numbers.
