Frequently Asked Questions
Here are answers to some of the most common questions I receive about working with me and the engagement process.
How does the engagement process work?
I follow a simple 4-step process: initial consultation, document collection, preparation & review, and ongoing support.
Is there a charge for the initial consultation?
No. The initial consultation is completely free with no obligation.
Do you work on a fixed fee basis?
Yes. I offer clear fixed fees with no hidden costs or hourly billing.
What are your qualifications and experience?
I am an ATT-qualified tax advisor with many years of experience, including time at a Big Four firm and running my own successful practice since 2006.
Why should I use a qualified accountant instead of doing it myself?
Using a qualified professional reduces the risk of errors, missed reliefs, and HMRC issues. It also saves you significant time and stress.
Can you help if I’ve fallen behind with my tax returns?
Yes. I regularly help clients who are behind and can work with HMRC on your behalf where needed.
What if I already have an accountant but want to switch?
Switching is straightforward. I can take over seamlessly and handle any handover required.
Are your fees tax deductible?
Yes. Accountancy fees are generally fully tax-deductible for self-employed individuals and landlords.
Do you charge VAT?
No. As a sole practitioner below the VAT threshold, I do not charge VAT on my fees.
How long does the whole process take?
Most returns are completed within a few weeks once I receive your information, though complex cases may take longer.
